CAMPUS

Situated on the outskirts of Ambala – Hisar Road (NH –
65), the sprawling campus of P.K.R. Jain College of Education
is just 5 Kms. from the main Bus Stand of Ambala City.
Ambala which is husb of Northern Region, is well connected
with roads and rails. Beautifully designed and structured
building of the college has fascinating lush-green lawns
and peaceful environment which sets the mood for learning.
The college has an ultramodern architectural building
with all the basic amenities. Adequate provisions have
been made to cater the students keeping in view the modern
education systems. The project of hostel construction
is under consideration.

STAFF
Even beautiful and good infrastructure without a brilliant,
talented and progressive staff is like beauty without
brain. The P.K.R. Managing Committee believes in providing
the best. Hence in the selections of the staff too, the
policy of providing the best was adhered to. Keeping the
same in mind the posts have been advertised in the two
leading national newspapers. The selections/appointments
of all teaching and non-teaching staff have been made
as per recommendations of the properly constituted selection
committee as per norms of the affiliating university i.e.
Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra and approval of the
same by the university. |

FUNDS
The college is funded by the society through P.K.R. Jain
Managing Committee, Ambala City. The society has very
sound financial position. It is already running 3 schools
and one Education College with strength of more than 6000
students. The expenses of the college are met partly out
of fee received from the students and partly out of the
funds received from the society. |

ADMINISTRATIVE BLOCK
At the main entrance of the building, administrative block
is located. The Principal’s office, Professor/HOD Room,
Reception and Visitors’ gallery, Staff Room, Conference
Room, Superintendent Office, Fee Clerk room, Pantry are
housed in this part of the building. |

CLASS ROOMS 
The college has eight very spacious class rooms each having
an area of about 525 Sq. ft. besides there is two Tutorial
Rooms. All the class rooms are full ventilated with Chalk
Boards and Lecture stands. Adequate furniture as per norms
has been provided in the rooms. In addition to the class
rooms provision for Multipurpose Room has also been made. |

LIBRARY

The college has a big library which is spread over an
area of about 2000 Sq. ft. with a rich collection of books
which have been placed in shelves easily accessible to
each aspirant. The library is centrally computerized and
Bar-coding system is applied to each issue and return.
Apart from Text Books, Encyclopedias, Reference Books,
and General Books of education are also kept in the Library.
More than 20 Journals and Periodicals have been subscribed
for enrichment of the knowledge of the students. Five
national dailies are also available. Separate arrangement
for their study has been made in the library. |

LABORATORIES
In order to develop a wholesome teacher, theoretical knowledge
need to be blended with practical thinking and orientation.
To deal with such practical aspect of teacher development, the
college has made provision for adequate facilities in the various
laboratories developed for this purpose. All the labs are well
equiped ventilated with sufficient space, adequate furniture
and Chalk-Boards. |

PHYSICAL SCIENCE & SOCIAL SCIENCE LABORATORY
To impart practical /technical knowledge on various topics of
the subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Social Studies,
Mathematics, Languages, Economics and Commerce, to develop thinking
ability, to deal with complex problems in these subjects and
to impart knowledge explicitly, various models, charts, apparatus
for expermentation and other needed tools are provided in this
laboratory. |

PSYCHOLOGY LABORATORY
As future teachers, these students need to know the various
ways to examine the aptitudes, mental level (I.Q), personality,
achievement and creativity of the children so that the teacher
can know and understand them properly and provide guidance
accordingly. The Psychological Tests and other testing equipments
provided in this Laboratory will help our future teachers in
this direction. |

EDUCATION TECHNOLOGY LABORATORY
To acquaint the students about the use of latest techniques
in teaching, Education Technology Lab has been developed. LCD
Projector, 29" Television set, DVD player, latest Slide
Projector with remote control, Overhead Projector, slides and
transparencies on various subjects, Black-Boards, Blank material
for building transparencies and slides are acquired for this
purpose. Besides, a separate section on mathematical tools and
charts is also available in the lab to help the students to
understand complex mathematical problems. |

COMPUTER AND LANGUAGE LABORATORY
The college has a well furnished computer lab with 10 computers
which are attached to a server. The computer lab has been designed
to train the students about the use of latest technology of
computers in teaching and learning. Adequate provision has been
made for future expansion and development. Provision has been
made for language learning through computer and magnetic device.
Educational CDs, audio cassettes, a tape-recorder and
micro-phones are provided in the lab for this purpose. |

LABORATORY
FOR THE PREPARATION OF TEACHING-AIDS
Preparation of teaching aids is an essential part of
the B.Ed syllabi and therefore, a separate Laboratory is enacted
for teaching and training the students for making teaching-aids
like charts, models and other indigenous equipment for teaching
practice etc. It also includes a section of Clay-modeling, Gardening,
Drawing & painting. |

| OTHER INFRASTRUCTURAL FACILITIES |

1) COMMON ROOM
There is a separate common room for Boys & Girls in
the college with adequate furniture in it. The students can
relax in the common rooms during their free period. |

2) SPORTS ROOM
Considering the recreational and sports needs of the students,
well equipped Sports Room has been provided in the college.
Initially Billiards Table, Table-Tennis, Carom-Board and Chess
have been provided in it. |

3) MULTIPURPOSE HALL
The college has built up a big Seminar Hall which is spread
over an area of about 2500 sq. ft. and has a capacity of more
than 250 students. The Hall can be used to stage small functions
as well |

PLAYGROUND
The College is developing its own Playground for cricket, Hockey,
Football, Volleyball in addition to field and Track Events.

| Besides above, Resource Room for disables has
also been provided. Separate wash rooms for boys and girls at
each floor have been provided. In addition, separate wash rooms
for faculty members have also been provided. A spacious parking
place has been provided behind the college building. A big lawn
having silky grass and flowers around add to its beauty has
been developed, keeping in view, to provide pollution free atmosphere
in the college campus. Canteen and Tuck shop facility is also
provided to cater the daily needs of the students. |
